Monday Morning Love Note

T-44 Days until 2025! Can you believe that?!

Lots of us, myself included, this time of year... love to push things off until the New Year. Ahhh, the perfect New Year's Resolution! ;) I'll get to that later.

BUT, what if we instead decided to lean in and make every bit of these last 44 days magical? What if we didn't need to wait until 2025 to make that happen?!

Holidays and this time of year can be challenging for a multitude of reasons... hustle and bustle, busyness, sadness and grief, overwhelm, the list can continue.

And, I don't discount any of those valid feelings.

BUT, at the same token... I challenge you not to let a short window of time deter you from the big things God has planned in your life.

FOR WHAT YOU CAN CREATE IN THE NEXT 44 DAYS.

1,065 hours.

63,900 minutes.

3,834,000 seconds.

Precious time.

That... if you allow it... Can begin TODAY. Right now.

READING

I will forever and always be a hopeless romantic and in love with an easy, beach read.

I just finished Emily Henry's newest novel, Funny Story. This is her 5th book and I think they get better each time.

It was one that makes you laugh, makes you feel a little more normal about your own life, pulls on your heart strings, and allows you to get lost in a world that can sometimes feel all too familiar.

If not now, add it your Summer beach read list! It's a good one!

EATING

My latest obsession has been sheet-pan baked veggies.

I cut up whatever needs to be used in the fridge, drizzle it with some olive oil and spices, and pop it into the oven until the veggies are crispy.

It's colorful, healthy, and delicious!

Most recently... Mine included red potatoes, sweet potatoes, belled peppers, cherry tomatoes, broccolini, and onions.

Pair it with a protein or in a pasta and ta-da! Easy dinner that will be a crowd-pleaser!

PLAYING

Well, for those that don't know... I live in Spain right now as a Cultural Language Assistant. More on this later!

BUT--

being in another country has challenged me to lean into their music, too.

Talk about some upbeat, pump-up music... Spanish pop!

Listen to 'Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido' the next time you are cooking in your kitchen and tell me it doesn't make you want to dance!! 💃

OBSESSING

With Spanish Christmas Markets! Imagine all of your favorite stores and food spots under twinkling lights, in the cool, fresh air, Christmas music playing, kids laughing, and people enjoying the nearing Holiday season.

I went to my first last night and it definitely won't be my last!!

RECOMMENDING

Outdoor walks! I know with Daylight Savings that our days feel shorter but, even a 15 minute stroll outside clears your mind, is so good for your body, and allows you to ground yourself from the busyness of the day.

I challenge you to give yourself 15 minutes either at the beginning or end of each day for some fresh air and simple movement.

Whether you listen to the birds, play your favorite music, or call your best friend... Getting outside is important.

It is so powerful on so many levels!

So that's it! Our second report...

Smile at a stranger today, do something just for you, give yourself time to reflect on what is and isn't working, and savor those you love the most.

Life is short - with breath still in your lungs - your work is not finished!
