Hi dear ones! What a blessing it is to be able to write this post on this gorgeous Carolina day! If it’s not sun-shiney where you are… I am sending you some of ours!
Today, I wanted to share on the value of female friendship and having a Christian community that you belong to and thrive in.
This past weekend I had a girlfriend of mine from college come to visit. (Cue the picture above!) It was a quick overnight trip that was not nearly long enough! At what age do we stop having sleepovers with girlfriends and staying up too late chatting and reminiscing!?
I hope I am never too old to make these happen.
I was reminded as we were chatting about how important it is to have female friendships and be in community with one another. In fact, it is the way God calls us to live.
Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10 tells us… "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!"
Alex and I have known each other for about 8 years — but, really got close in the last 6 or so. Her job moved her to Raleigh and I lived in Charlotte, thus, we were fortunate to only be about 3 hours from one another.
For about four years since I graduated - We have made a diligent effort to see each other every few months. We plan fun meet-ups and explore new cities in North Carolina! We laugh, tell stories, and enjoy eachother's company - even if for a brief breakfast date.
I cherish these times together!
Nothing some good coffee and a powerful girlfriend can't solve. Am I right or am I right!?
It revives my soul every time we get together - We challenge each other, lift each other up when we feel down, celebrate wins, work through losses, and do life together. She is my go-to person that I call when I get in the car. I know she will always have a listening ear and offer a piece of advice that I need to hear.
Hebrews 10:24–25 says…
"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
Alex and I do our best to live in Christian community constantly supporting one another and being there for each other when we need it most. And, oh how forever grateful I am for our friendship!
Women need friendships and community like this!
So, I ask YOU… Are you in Christian community? Do you have female friends that you can call upon when you need them most? Are you intentional with staying connected to those that you love so dearly?
In our monthly membership - We value relationships. We value community and gathering like-minded Believers together to advance God’s Kingdom. We value strong, female friendships.
Women get each other like no other. We are emotional, sincere, nurturing creatures who need each other.
If you are missing that or, even if you are already fortunate enough to have an Alex, like I do… There is immense value in constantly growing, challenging yourself, and being uplifted by fellow Christian Believers.
My mom and I... are here to help guide, mentor, and educate women so that you can cultivate the most loving relationships with those that you care about. So, that you can show up as the highest version of yourself. So, you can flourish and thrive in every aspect of your life. So you feel that sense of belonging to a community and know how adored you are.
We would love to welcome you into our community of faith where we do life together. We ask the hard questions. We challenge ourselves. We push. We love. And, we show up the way God wants us to show up…. In community! We blossom friendships with women from all over and it is the biggest blessing.
Today - I challenge you to call someone near and dear to you and tell them how much you love them and value them. The friendships in our life (particularly with fellow women) and the Christian community we cultivate makes all the difference in the way we experience life. This is one thing I know for sure!!
May today be beautiful for you, friends! We cherish you and all you have to offer the world!
